I guess I just want to know whether the picture will be any better if I buy the RGB to VGA converter, and I assume that the RGB signal, at the moment, is being down-converted to S-VIDEO. Those adapters also have a problem with tearing. If it's configured for s-video output the composite connector will give a greyscale picture (because the colors are on the s-video chroma pin). I currently have my SKY BOX (not HD box or PLUS box) set on composite and the quality is rubbish. The TVOne VD-660 Cheese box lists for 69. I have a projector with COMPOSITE, S-VIDEO and VGA inputs on it (it is not a HD projector, so no HDMI input).
